About

Draw one curve, get a whole street. Road Builder turns a Blender curve into a finished road with kerbs, sidewalks, lane markings, crosswalks, signs, trees, street lights and power lines. Drag any point and the whole street follows, live.

Bend it with one-click curve presets, lift it with the elevation tools, bank it by real physics, and carry it over a valley on a bridge with piers down to the ground. Join roads with T-junctions, signalised crossroads and roundabouts that rebuild when you edit their roads.

Dress every road with bundled Poly Haven surfaces, age it with wear, cracks and patches, or soak it with rain. When the street is done, bake it to clean meshes with lightmap UVs and export it to Godot, Unreal, Unity, three.js, glTF or OBJ.

What's included

  • Live procedural roads from a single curve, with 6 presets from highway to dirt trail
  • Kerbs, sidewalks, footpaths, markings, crosswalks, signs, trees and bollards
  • Street lights, animated traffic signals, utility poles and power lines
  • T-junctions, signalised crossroads and roundabouts that follow your edits
  • Elevation, physics-based banking, bridges with piers, embankments and cuts
  • 32 bundled Poly Haven surfaces, plus wear, cracks, patches and wet roads
  • Bake with lightmap UVs and export to Godot, Unreal, Unity, three.js, glTF and OBJ
  • Interface in 12 languages, and a full online tutorial

Start with one road

Press Add Road and a finished street appears: asphalt, kerbs, sidewalks, markings and crosswalks. Drag any point of its curve and the whole street follows, live.

Adding a road and moving its end point in Blender
  • 6 presets: Modern Highway, City Street, Country Two-Lane, Dirt Road, Dirt / Mountain Trail and Elevated Bridge, each with its own widths, lanes and furniture.
  • Just a curve: every road is an ordinary Blender curve with a geometry nodes modifier, so the usual curve tools all work.
  • Instant: the road graph ships prebuilt, so the first road appears in about a second.

Add every detail

Every part of the street is one toggle: kerbs, sidewalks, lane markings, more lanes, crosswalks and stop lines, turn arrows, signs, trees, street lights, drain gutters and bollards.

Layers appearing on a street one after another: kerbs, sidewalks, markings, lanes, crosswalks, signs, trees, lights
  • Markings: US or UK / Europe styles, lane counts, edge lines, crosswalks, stop lines and turn arrows.
  • Street furniture: speed and stop signs, street trees in pits or on the verge, bollards and kerb drain gutters with grates.
  • Your own assets: point the trees at a collection of your own and they are placed instead of the built-in ones.

Bend it

Extrude the end of a road with E, or use the Quick Curve Presets: 90° turns, gentle 45° bends and 180° hairpins in one click. Banked curves roll in and back out smoothly.

Lift it

Raise any point and the road climbs with it. Smooth Slope evens out the grade between points, and Flat Mode keeps everything on the ground when you want a 2D layout.

Bank it

Auto-Bank tilts every curve from the design speed and the curve radius, the way real roads are built, up to a maximum angle you set.

Bridge it

Lift a road off the ground and turn on Bridge Support Pillars: hammerhead, flared or simple column piers stand on footings at the terrain, with girders under the deck.

Dress it

Pick the surface of the road, the sidewalk and the kerb from a list of real-world textures, each at real-world scale, with rotation and scale per road.

Switching road and sidewalk surfaces from the material lists
  • Roads: asphalt, worn and damaged asphalt, gravel, tarred gravel, laterite, pebbles, rocky trail, dirt and cobblestone.
  • Sidewalks: concrete pavement, square and patterned pavers, hexagonal paving, herringbone and brick.
  • Bundled: the Poly Haven textures come with the add-on: nothing to download.

Age it

Wear and cracks, with a crack size, and patch repairs, set per road. Old country lanes and fresh highways from the same road.

Soak it

Turn up Wetness and the road gets darker and glossier, and puddles form and catch the light.

Pave the path

Drop the kerbs and the sidewalks and pick cobblestone, gravel or dirt: the same tool makes footpaths, alleys and park trails.

Light it

Street lights along one side, both sides or the median: cobra-head, dual-mast, decorative and high-mast, with sodium or LED colour. Junctions get animated traffic signals that cycle green, amber and red.

Power it

Utility poles along the verge, with transformers, insulators and one, three or four conductors sagging between them as much as you like.

Join it

Select two roads and make a T-junction, a crossroads with or without signals, or a roundabout. Junctions follow their roads: widen a road and its kerbs, crosswalks and signals rebuild.

Draw it on the land

Pick Surface Draw and sketch on your terrain. Each stroke becomes a clean road that rides on top of the ground, with slopes down to it.

Ship it

Export for Game Engine / Web bakes the road to meshes, bakes the procedural materials to image textures and writes the right file for your target.

Choosing the Godot target in the export dialog, and the exported street running in Godot
  • Targets: Godot and three.js (glTF .glb), Unreal Engine and Unity (FBX), generic glTF and OBJ.
  • Game-ready: road and props as separate objects, lightmap UVs, and textures baked at 512 to 4096 px.
  • Or stay in Blender: Bake to Static Mesh gives you plain meshes to edit by hand.

FAQ

Can I keep editing a road after adding furniture and junctions?
Yes. Everything is procedural: move points, change widths or lanes, and the furniture, markings and junctions rebuild.
Will it work with my game engine?
Export bakes the materials to image textures and writes glTF for Godot and three.js, FBX for Unreal and Unity, or OBJ. Lightmap UVs are added as a second UV set.
Does it work with my own terrain?
Yes. Draw roads straight onto any mesh, snap an existing road onto it, and let the embankments and cuts run down to it.
